Type and Erase

by

in

I type and erase.

Type and erase.

Type and erase.

Nothing sounds right.

Nothing makes sense.

I have nothing to say.

And, I write anyway.

I face the blank page.

Like my students.

And, write something.

Anything.

The words on the page

say,

I’m here.

I exist.

In praise of a draft. Any draft 🙂 Thanks for sharing.
p.s. I’m amused by the juxtaposition of newish school typing & oldish school erasing. Type and erase, write and erase, type and delete? Who’s to say, as long as the words land somehow!

Hahaha! I didn’t even notice the juxtaposition of “new and old”. Thanks for pointing that out. Of course, if I’m using a writing up, I can now use an actual eraser to “delete”. LOL!

Having missed writing more than usual recently, this is a good slice for me to read.

Trying not to miss a week of slicing or posting something. Once that happens I end up in a rabbit hole and it’s hard to dig my way out.

I could relate to this one! Those days when you’re going to write but it feels like nothing is quite right. I love that the struggle becomes this powerful and engaging poem!

You showed up. You wrote. Words are on the page. Your voice is heard. I am glad you are here.

Thank you, Terje for the encouragement. The encouragement and support of you and other slicers is why I keep coming back to this community with my writing.
